Renewal of Wedding Vows
A Wedding Vow Renewal Ceremony is a Ceremony in which a married couple renews or reaffirms their wedding vows. It is seen as a way for you as a married couple to renew your commitment to each other and demonstrate that the wedding vows you took are still considered sacred. To some couples the ceremony offers the chance to celebrate the wedding you never had. You may have eloped, had a civil ceremony at the courthouse. Or simply could not afford the elaborate wedding you would have wanted to have. Perhaps you got married just before your spouse was deployed.
I am called upon to perform a wedding vow renewal ceremony for diverse reasons. It may be you have passed through a difficult time in your relationship., Perhaps one is a cancer survivor, and want to celebrate your new life together. It may be in order to have a religious ceremony if your original wedding had not been one. It may be after the birth of your child. Military couples may wish to renew their vows when the deployed spouse returns home. It often is for a particular anniversary. Whether it’s for your first, fifth, tenth, twenty-fifth, or fiftieth, it is a time to celebrate your love for each other. And celebrate you should! The Wedding Ceremony is made up of vows, promises to be kept. A Wedding Renewal is a celebration of those kept vows, those promises made to each other.
You may choose to renew your vows on your Anniversary, on Valentine’s Day, or on another significant day for the two of you.
Often couples will include their children in the Renewal of Vows Ceremony, even grandchildren.
It may be the elaborate celebration you never had, or it may be a more simple ceremony on the beach or other romantic location for just the two of you or with close friends and family.
Couples who renew their vows often feel much closer together. Celebrate the years that you have spent together. The promises that you made on your wedding day, and have kept for each other, the memories that you have together. Celebrate your love!
It is always very special for me when couples that I have performed their Wedding Ceremony call me to perform a Renewal of Vows Ceremony for themselves or for their parents.
